Get to know Ronnie a little better.

It all started with a kid who just wanted to catch a few fish and grew into something much, much bigger.

While still a young child, Ronnie's grandfather and older brother, Brad, would take him to their aunt's farm ponds on the weekend to catch bream and small bass. Starting with cane poles and watching his brother fish with top of the line bait casters and graphite rods, reeling in super aggressive bass, Ronnie's dream was to be able to use an "open face" reel and fish like his brother. By 4 years old, he had moved on to the Zebcos. Being raised by a single mother, there was no extra money for nice tackle and lots of rods and reels, so Ronnie would re-use the worms Brad used, once he was done with them. Soon later, Ronnie was helping himself to Brad's over full tackle box. The goal then was to out fish his older brother who taught him everything! Once he was given his very first bait caster, Ronnie was already in the 4th grade and living in Crandall, TX. After school and on the weekends he would ride his bike to a small lake about 5 miles from his house to practice his fishing and learn more about bass. Often Brad would stop by and take Ronnie to the lake in the "big boat", a 16ft Stratos, that he looked at as the greatest boat on the water. Fishing lakes such as Purtis Creek, Lake Fork, and Joe Pool, Ronnie's passion grew bigger and bigger. The goal then grew from beating his brother to one day becoming a full time angler. Fishing stayed a consistency in Ronnie's life and during his 8th grade year he and his mother moved to Henderson, Tx. and that's when everything changed.
In Henderson Ronnie became friends with Eric Leuschner, another young man who was head over heels in love with the sport. This is also the time Ronnie came to know Jesus Christ as his personal savior, this was the absolute most important and best decision Ronnie ever made. Making him now a Fisher of Men! He and Eric began fishing every day of the week, from pond hopping to flat bottom boats on Lake Caddo. Not a day went by that those two weren't on the water. After graduating high school, an American tragedy occurred that drove Ronnie to join the United States Marine Corp in the Infantry. He served 4 years on Camp Lejeune and was discharged 6 months early for an injury that surgery didn't fix. Ronnie met his wife, LaNae Lincoln, at a church he and another Marine were visiting and he knew without a doubt that that she was the one he would spend the rest of his life with. They were soon married and 3 months later pregnant with their first child. With Ronnie dominating local tournaments in North Carolina, the two decided that east Texas was the right place to raise their family, and pursue a career in bass fishing, what Ronnie had dreamt of his whole life. Upon arriving in Henderson, the first thing that Ronnie did was buy a boat, 18ft Ranger with a 150hp motor. On to the tournaments! He and Eric started with instant success and never looked back. Since then, Ronnie has fished over 200 days a year on the water, competed in numerous tournaments and taught many people who love the sport to catch huge fish and compete in tournaments. He has worked with tackle companies to design lures, and worked boat and tackle shows doing bass fishing seminars. With a life of fishing and a passion to help others catch fish, Ronnie Kelley will do his best for you!
